JCP-CPV theoretical exchange talks end

   The Japanese Communist Party delegation (head: JCP Social Sciences Institute Director Fuwa Tetsuzo) and the Communist Party of Vietnam delegation (head: CPV Central Committee Theory Council Chair To Huy Rua) on November 20 held the second day of talks to exchange views on theoretical issues at the JCP headquarters.

   In response to a CPV questionnaire, Fuwa put forward the JCP view on issues of political democracy under socialism, Japanese politics and the political strategies of the Japanese ruling class, and characteristics of the Japanese government’s diplomatic policy.

   The CPV delegation asked additional questions. Fuwa in reply gave an analysis of the development of Marx’s theory on the market economy, problems underlying the way to advance into socialism without passing through capitalism, the theory and practice of democratic centralism, and the consciousness of the working class in Japan.

   The CPV delegation presented the CPV views in answer to five questions that the JCP put to it beforehand ? response to the negative aspects of the market economy, the driving force of socialist progress, the transformation of the relations of production in economic units, including corporations, the path to socialism in the agriculture sector, and relationships with international economic organizations.

   The JCP delegation asked additional questions with respect to the “transition period to socialism” as the CPV put it.

   In the two-day talks, both delegations engaged in spirited exchanges of opinion. At the end of the talks, both sides expressed hope for the further development of such theoretical exchanges.

Fuwa hosts dinner party

   JCP delegation head Fuwa later in the day hosted a dinner in which all members of the two delegations attended. Attendees had friendly exchanges about their impressions of the talks, the present situation in Vietnam, JCP activities, and the history of relations between the two parties since the 1960s.

   CPV delegation head Rua expressed his pleasure at the theoretical exchange with the JCP delegation led by Fuwa and his hope that theoretical exchanges marking a new stage in the relations of the two parties will progress on a long-term basis.

   Fuwa said, “In the past 41 years, I had chances to visit Vietnam at its important junctures and am strongly impressed by the changes and development of Vietnam. Although you have a great future ahead of you, you may also face challenges that you must grapple with as hard as you can. I hope that you will achieve historically significant success in your undertaking.”
