JCP representatives attend congresses of Indiafs CPI and CPI-M
Japanese Communist Party representatives attended the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in late March and early April.
Nishiguchi Hikaru, JCP International Bureau acting director, was among the international guests representing 39 parties from 26 countries at the CPI Congress held March 23-27 in Hyderabad in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Nishiguchi congratulated CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan on the success of the CPI Congress. He also participated in a rally celebrating the success of the CPI Congress with about 50,000 people.
Ogata Yasuo, JCP vice chair, attended the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-) held from March 29-April 3 in Coimbatore, Indiafs Tamil State. Ogata had a conversation with CPI-M General Secretary Prakash Karat at a dinner hosted by the CPI-M Politburo. Following the closing of the Congress, Ogata, along with other international guests, attended a mass rally commemorating the Congress with about 200,000 people attending. In its messages to the CPI and the CPI-M, the JCP Central Committee expressed hope for friendship and solidarity to be further developed to achieve common tasks, including the establishment of an international order of peace based on the United Nations Charter.
