Gensuikyo calls for anti-nuclear weapons signatures at anti-war rally in Boston
The Japan Council against A and H Bombs (Japan Gensuikyo) delegation petitioning the United Nations for the abolition of nuclear weapons on October 11 participated in an anti-war rally held in Boston and collected signatures in support of the signature drive, gFor a Nuclear Weapons-Free Worldh.
About 3,000 veterans, students, and citizens took part in the rally.
Gensuikyo Secretary-General Taka Hiroshi in a speech stated, gFreedom and democracy that are U.S. ideals are being tarnished by the Bush administration. But today, it is the peace movements and citizens against war that represent the U.S. conscience.h
gIn Japan, public anger is rapidly increasing at the attempt to adversely revise the constitution in subservience to the U.S. governmenth, he added.
