Governmentfs stimulus plan wonft protect the public from ailing economy
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo said that Asofs plan is aimed at invigorating major corporations, banks, and the wealthy, not at protecting peoplefs livelihoods during the economic downturn and that he has no intension to prevent such large corporations as Toyota and Nissan from implementing a storm of layoffs.

Politics that made General Tamogami so arrogant
Tamogami Toshio, the chief of staff of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force, was dismissed over an essay he wrote for an essay contest sponsored by a company, in which he said that it is gcertainly a false accusationh to say that Japan was an aggressor nation in World War Two.

It is sheer folly for Japan to pay costs of relocating U.S. Marines
Japanfs Defense Ministry budget request for the next fiscal year starting on April 1, 2009 includes expenditure for the relocation of 8,000 U.S. Marines to the U.S. territory of Guam in the South Pacific from Okinawa. The ministry also plans to station its staff in Hawaii, the stronghold of the U.S. Pacific Forces.
