Ex-chief cabinet secretary: LDP will also act 'constructively as opposition party'

Ex-Chief Cabinet Secretary Machimura Nobutaka on September 16 in reply to reporters said, "The Liberal Democratic Party will also 'constructively' cooperate with the government as 'an opposition party'."

He made this comment to the press in response to the question regarding how the LDP will deal with the Democratic Party of Japan -led government.

Akahata pointed out the emptiness of the LDP calling itself "constructive," as long as it lacks any self-criticism of the party policies that exclusively served the interests of financial circles and large corporations at the cost of people's living conditions.
