JCP Yoshii urges defense minister to observe the three principles banning arms exports Yoshii Hidekatsu, Japanese Communist Party member of the House of Representatives, urged Defense Minister Kitazawa Toshimi to observe strictly the three principles banning arms exports. The defense minister indicated his intention to review the principles, saying, gIt is better to carry out a fundamental discussion.h In the House Budget Committee meeting on February 9, Yoshii asked about corporate influence in Kitazawafs position on the proposal by the Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren) which is calling for a review and revision of the three principles. Although Kitazawa replied that he will observe the three principles as gbasic principles for a peaceful country to avoid international conflicth, he added, gIn a meeting with defense-related industries on January 21, they made the same proposal (as Nippon Keidanren) so I think we should consider the proposalh. Yoshii criticized Kitazawa for advocating a review of the three principles as a cabinet minister. |
