Minister of State for Postal Reform Kamei Shizuka promised to provide full-time positions to contingent workers at the Japan Post Group. This was a reply to Japanese Communist Party representative Daimon Mikishi at the House of Councilors Budget Committee meeting on March 12. Daimon pointed out that 212,000 out of about 213,000 non-regular workers at the Japan Post Group are fixed-term contract workers and that among them 121,000 workers have worked for more than three years by having their contracts repeatedly renewed. Daimon said to the minister, gA contract worker who works for a long time with repeated renewals of his/her contract has the right to obtain a full-time position.h Kamei said, gI agree with you.h |
