Ichida meets with Vietnamese labor union leaders Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi on April 1 met with the delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) led by Vice President Nguen Thi Thu Hong at the JCP head office. The VGCL delegation is visiting Japan at the invitation of the National Confederation of Trade Unions (Zenroren). Ichida welcomed the VGCL delegation, and Hong said that he is pleased with the good relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the JCP. Ichida explained that the Worker Dispatch Law revision plan that has many loopholes and the arguments for relocating the U.S. Marine Corps Futenma Air Station within Okinawa Prefecture have increased public distrust of the government led by the Democratic Party of Japan. He also talked about the JCPfs role in working to put an end to the two aberrations that have plagued Japanese politics: its extraordinary subservience to the United States and putting the interests of business circles and large corporations as top priority in its policy formulations. - Akahata, April 2, 2010
