JCP Ogata attends a concert praying for peace A concert praying for peace and the elimination of nuclear weapons was jointly held by the Roman Curia and Venezuelan Embassy in Tokyo on May 25 at the chapel of the University of the Sacred Heart on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the atomic-bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Japanese Communist Party Vice-Chair Ogata Yasuo attended. The concert was given before the so-called "Hibaku Maria", the remains of a burnt head of a statue of the Immaculate Conception in the Cathedral in Urakami, Nagasaki, which has been exhibited throughout the world, including at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference in New York City. - Akahata, May 27, 2010
