JCP wins three seats in Upper House election In the July 11 House of Councilors election, the Japanese Communist Party secured three seats in the proportional representation election. JCP Incumbent Ichida Tadayoshi (JCP Secretariat Head) and Daimon Mikishi were reelected, and Tamura Tomoko was newly elected. The JCP received about 3.6 million votes (6.1% of the votes) in the proportional representation constituency, down by 844,375 votes or 1.4 percent from the 2007 House of Councilors election. - Akahata, July 13, 2010
