Shii speaks at meeting of Asian political parties
The Sixth General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties started on December 2 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with the theme "Asia's Quest for a Better Tomorrow". Japanese Communist Party Shii Kazuo delivered a speech entitled, "Towards Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World" at the plenary session.

DPJ and LDP do not debate policies but insult each other instead
In the latest extraordinary Diet session, people noticed that the Democratic Party of Japan and the Liberal Democratic Party were ignoring the general public and were insulting each other without bothering to debate their policies.

Japan Peace Conference calls for Asia without military bases or military alliances
Nearly 1,200 people took part in the 2010 Japan Peace Conference from December 2 to 5, calling for a peaceful Japan and Asia without U.S. bases or military alliances. It was held in Nagasaki's Sasebo City which hosts a huge U.S. Naval base.
