Shii said that as stated in the JCP proposal, what is important is to promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the building of permanent peace in Northeast Asia in an integrated and comprehensive manner.

In regard to Shii’s explanation, the ambassador said he understands well the need for “an integrated and comprehensive manner”.

Shii handed to the diplomat the statement he published on April 6 to call on the Six Parties to work for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Shii explained, "I came here to directly hand our request to you because as well as the six countries, Mongolia is a very important state in Northeast Asia." The ad interim ambassador said in response, "I will convey your request to the Mongolian government. The North Korea issue cannot be solved without dialogue. In this sense, we share common ground."

Then, the ambassador explained the significance and the progress of the 1992 declaration of the Mongolian Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone. He said that his government ensures the peace and security of the country which is surrounded by nuclear powers and also maintains good relations with all its neighbors.
