Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on April 10, following the lifting of a 2.5-month lockdown of Wuhan in China where the coronavirus outbreak first occurred, posted the following comment on Twitter:
"Chinese authorities have declared that its government successfully 'contained' the virus and that the lockdown in Wuhan was lifted. If that is the case, I'd like China to explain what it did as countermeasures. Please make public the entire picture of political and scientific information pertaining to its actions to fight against the virus, and share it with the world. It is obvious that China's initial response was slow due to a lack of freedom of speech. China should share with the world all the lessons it learned in its anti-corona efforts and work to cooperate with the world in combatting the virus."
