The Japanese Communist Party on April 14 announced a two-month free trial of the e-edition of its party daily, Akahata, for young people as part of its effort to attract young people facing financial difficulties and uncertainty amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The JCP Central Committee division in charge of youth and students said that the coronavirus pandemic has aroused young people’s interest in the world economy, Japanese politics, and other social issues, adding that Akahata is the best alternative and critical news source for them to become informed citizens.
The free trial period will last from April 17 to June 20. People up to 29 years of age are eligible for this offer. Application can be made in local JCP offices or on the Akahata official website. https://www.jcp.or.jp/akahata/index.html
