Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo, head of the JCP International Commission, held an online meeting with Le Hoai Trung, head of the Commission for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on April 26.
Trung informed Ogata of the outcome of the13th CPV Congress held early this year regarding CPV's party-building efforts, Vietnam's external affairs, and the progress of economic and social development based on the 35 years of the Doi Moi policy. He talked about what the ASEAN summit held two days earlier discussed and the Vietnamese stance on the issues discussed.
Ogata expressed his hope that the CPV Congress will contribute to a bright future for Vietnam and explained the JCP position on the current situation in Myanmar.
