Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on August 28 held talks with the new Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu at the JCP head office in Tokyo.
Welcoming the ambassador’s visit, Shii noted that the JCP and the Communist Party of Vietnam have been collaborating with each other on various tasks such as peace building in East Asia and the abolition of nuclear weapons. He said that he is pleased by the fact that Vietnam plays an important part in ASEAN, which takes the initiative to encourage inclusive international cooperation. He expressed the hope that the JCP and the CPV will maintain close communications in order to further develop the two parties’ ties and cooperation on common tasks.
The ambassador expressed his delight at the positive development in the long-established relations between the two parties. He said that Vietnam places importance on good relations with Japan as well as with the JCP, adding that he would like to work for active exchanges between the two countries and hold a conversation with the JCP regarding international affairs.
JCP Vice Chair and International Commission Chair Ogata Yasuo also attended the talks.
