Following media reports that Israel conducted a strike on Iranian soil, Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Shii Kazuo on April 19 issued the following statement:

Israel’s military offensive against Iran should be strongly condemned.

The recent chain of retaliations was triggered by Israel’s lawless act of attacking the Iranian Embassy in Syria, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law. That is the very reason why the international community has strongly called on Israel to exercise restraint. Ignoring this call, Israel launched a military assault, which is totally unjustifiable.

The JCP calls on all countries concerned to exercise self-discipline in order to put a stop to the chain of retaliations.

The JCP strongly demands that Israel stop its genocide against Palestinians in Gaza immediately.
