US soldier in Yokosuka hits 87-year-old man by car

March 8, 2025

A car driven by a U.S. Navy petty officer had hit an 87-year-old man in Yokosuka City (Kanagawa Pref.), the city government announced on March 4.

As long as three weeks after the accident, the South Kanto Defense Bureau of the Ministry of Defense reported it to the city.

The city government requested that the Defense Ministry promptly provide information on any future accidents and crimes involving the U.S. military. It also requested the U.S. Yokosuka base command to provide thorough traffic safety education to its personnel and to compensate the victim.
