Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on February 24 received Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Japan, at the JCP head office.
Schweisgut introduced himself by saying that he is the first EU ambassador to be appointed to Japan under the new rules set out by the Lisbon Treaty.
Shii, in answering questions by the ambassador, explained the JCP views on Japan’s domestic politics and foreign diplomacy.
They exchanged opinions in regard to rules to protect people’s livelihoods and the issue of corporate social responsibility as well as policies on labor, social security, agriculture, and the environment.
