Ichida attends British reception
Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi on June 6 attended a celebration marking the 60 th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’ ascension to the throne, hosted by British Ambassador to Japan David Warren at his official residence.
Ichida offered his congratulations to the ambassador on the anniversary, and had friendly chats with other participants.
Ogata meets Cuban ambassador
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo, who also chairs the party’s International Committee, on June 6 met with Cuban Ambassador to Japan Fernandez de Cossio at the JCP head office.
Ogata, responding to questions from the ambassador, explained the present situation in regard to the tax system, including the move to increase the consumption tax, and briefly described the present political situation and the JCP’s economic proposals.
In regard to the situation in Latin America, the Cuban ambassador outlined the importance of the mutual cooperation and initiatives taken by political parties in promoting regional integration in the wake of the European debt crisis and global economic slowdown.
