Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair and International Bureau Director Ogata Yasuo on September 18 met with Bolivian Ambassador to Japan Masakatsu Jaime Ashimine Oshiro at the JCP head office.
Ashimine explained the present situation in his country and the position of the Bolivian government led by President Evo Morales. The Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the Rio Group, a forum of Latin American and Caribbean states for political consultation, are now working hard to settle the ongoing Bolivian situation, the ambassador said.
Showing Akahata articles about developments in Bolivia, Ogata said that the JCP is paying close attention to the ongoing regional effort to overcome the present difficulties.
