Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on June 16 visited Chinese Ambassador Cui Tiankai at the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo to deliver 16.83 million yen in donations raised in support of Sichuan quake victims.
This was the second delivery of donations to Chinese quake victims since May.
Thanking Shii for the donation, Cui said, “This grassroots support will very much encourage quake victims.”
He also expressed his sympathy for the victims of the recent devastating earthquake that struck Miyagi and Iwate prefectures in northeast Japan on June 14.
