Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on December 6 held talks in Tokyo with the chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Nguyen Sinh Hung, who is officially visiting Japan at the invitation of the Japanese House of Councilors president.
The JCP vice chair welcomed Hung and handed him a personal letter from JCP Chair Shii Kazuo who was absent from the talks due to a JCP electioneering engagement.
The Vietnamese National Assembly chair highly evaluated developing friendships between the two countries and between the two peoples as well as deepening JCP-CPV relations. Ogata in response said that both parties should keep on with their party-building efforts and further promote JCP-CPV theoretical exchanges.
Ogata and Hung shared each party’s position on how best to promote peace in East Asia and exchanged views on that topic.
