Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on September 14 met with Mexican Ambassador to Japan Miguel Ruiz-Cabañas at the JCP head office.
Responding to questions from the Mexican ambassador, Shii explained the results of the recent House of Representatives general election, the outlook of the new Japanese political situation, and the role of the JCP as an “opposition party offering constructive engagement.”
Ruiz-Cabañas explained how the Mexican government attaches great importance to the issues of nuclear disarmament and climate change.
Referring to Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Patricia Espinosa Castellano’s message to the World Conference against A & H Bombs in August and the participation in the conference of Juan Jose Gomez Camacho, permanent representative of Mexico in Geneva and Counselor of the Mexican Embassy in Japan Armando Arriaga as charge d’affaires, Shii expressed his appreciation for the Mexican government’s cooperation with the World Conference. Shii presented the ambassador with his latest book published in English.
