Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on February 22 sent a message of sympathy to East Timor President Jose Ramos-Horta who has been hospitalized in Australia with a serious gunshot wound.

The message said, “I was greatly shocked to hear the news that you were seriously wounded in a despicable gun attack. I would like to convey my sincere wish for your swift recovery.”
