A male worker at an ex-Sony subsidiary in Miyagi Prefecture has joined a union to fight for the withdrawal of his transfer to a company office in Tochigi Prefecture, 220 kilometers away from Miyagi.
A revised law on national referendums concerning constitutional amendments was enacted in the House of Councilors plenary session. The Japanese Communist Party voted against the revision bill.
JCP Chair Shii said, "It is unacceptable if PM Suga imposes on the Japanese people 'support' gained from G7 leaders for the holding of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics."
