PM Kishida Fumio promised visiting U.S. President Biden further discussions on Japan’s “possession of the enemy base strike capability” and a considerable boost in military spending. This aims to strengthen the bilateral alliance and counter China.
PM Kishida decided on a policy to oblige companies to make public their wage differences between male and female employees. The JCP Diet efforts and public demand have moved the government to make this decision.
"We criticize military alliances for bringing about vicious cycles of 'military responses'. As clearly stated in our party Program, we look to a world without military alliances. From this standpoint, we have opposed NATO expansion," said JCP Chair Shii.
