The Japanese Communist Party held a speech gathering to celebrate its 100th founding anniversary. Chair Shii announced a plan to promote cooperation and solidarity with leftist and progressive political parties in the other developed capitalist countries.
A rally took place in opposition to the unconstitutional "state funeral" for former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park with about 13,000 people participating.
As a major factor in the plummeting support rate, JCP Chair Shii pointed out that PM Kishida maintains his decision to forcibly hold ex-PM Abe’s state funeral as planned in violation of the Constitution.
