The G7 Gender Equality Ministers adopted the "Nikko Statement" reaffirming their commitment to accelerating their efforts "toward full gender equality." As the host country, Japan is responsible to put the terms of agreement into practice.
The Labor Ministry’s Central Council on Minimum Wages began discussions on its annual recommendation for an increase in regional minimum wages. The government proposed to increase the average minimum hourly wage by 4% (39 yen) to 1,000 yen.
JCP Secretariat Head Koike said, "The CDPJ leader's remark in May is obstructing the citizens-opposition parties joint struggle. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the CDPJ to retract its leader’s remark first in order to remove the obstacle."
