Japanese Communist Party EC Chair Tamura Tomoko and Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan leader Izumi Kenta agreed to “cooperate and join forces” in the upcoming general election in order to defeat the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
Prime Minister Kishida on August 15 made cash offerings at Yasukuni Shrine as LDP president, and three Cabinet Ministers, including the Defense Minister, also visited the shrine, the ideological symbol of prewar/wartime Japanese militarism.
