The Organizing Committee of the 2007 World Conference against A & H Bombs received messages from governments of New Zealand, Mexico, Laos, and Lithuania as of July 31.
JCP Chair Shii said, “I think Prime Minister Abe must step down. Mr. Abe said his policies concerning the Constitution, education, and the consumption tax will not change. However, I strongly urge the LDP to reflect on its policies and refrain from pushing them.”
The JCP won three seats in the national proportional representation constituency, a decrease of one, but it maintained its position by receiving about 4.4 million votes (7.48 percent of the total votes cast), up from the 2004 and 2001 Upper House elections.
