Japan’s business circles are united in standing against the effort to stop global warming on the grounds that “the public will be forced to pay the cost” without mentioning the merit of the effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
With the Japanese government issuing an “order to destroy any ballistic missiles” that might be launched by North Korea, Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo said, “The most important thing is to refrain from any activities that would increase tensions in Northeast Asia and to make every diplomatic effort to urge North Korea to exercise restraint in the ‘rocket’ launch.”
Although Japan has committed itself to the United States to pay the cost for the relocation of a part of U.S. Marine Corps to Guam using Japanese tax money, the document, which can be regarded as the Japanese government’s master plan for the project, does not contain an itemized inventory of costs.
