Young Japanese workers and union activists on April 15 staged a day of action in Tokyo’s shopping district of Shibuya in concert with the global day of action seeking higher wages for fast-food workers and a minimum wage hike.
In Kumamoto Prefecture, which was hit hard by the massive earthquake and the following aftershocks, local assembly members and local bodies of the Japanese Communist Party are providing support for disaster victims.
The Japanese Communist Party Dietmembers’ taskforce made a representation to the central government, demanding that the Sendai nuclear power plant be shut down immediately in case of any unexpected events related to the earthquakes occurring.
