The 2017 World Conference in August is attracting more and more attention as it will be an important event showing the prospects and accelerating momentum of antinuke movements.
In the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election on July 2, the Japanese Communist Party increased its number of seats to 19. This is second consecutive victory of the JCP after 2013 when the party doubled its strength from eight to 17.
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo in his comment said, “In order to meet our commitments, the JCP will work even harder in the metropolitan assembly as well as in national politics by further increasing cooperation with a broader range of people.”
