A crewmember of the Yokosuka-based USS Ronald Reagan had been arrested on a charge of rape, it was learned on February 6.

Reportedly, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on February 3 arrested a U.S. serviceman; the victim is not Japanese. The crime occurred shortly after an alcohol ban which had been imposed on all RR crew was lifted.
