The Kyoto Prefectural Police on September 3 announced that a U.S. marine was arrested for stealing a donation box from a convenience store in Kyoto City.
According to the police, a 20-year-old marine stationed at U.S. Camp Hansen in Okinawa together with his friends came to Kyoto at the end of August for sightseeing. On September 3 at 4:10 a.m., the marine who was under the influence of alcohol stole a donation box containing at least 5,600 yen in cash from a convenience store in the city.
The suspect denied the charges against him.
