Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on December 17 visited the Cambodian Embassy in Tokyo to talk with Ambassador Hor Monirath.
A JCP delegation led by Chair Shii Kazuo visited Cambodia to attend the Sixth General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Phnom Penh earlier this month.
Ogata said that the JCP delegation held fruitful talks with leaders of the Cambodian People’s Party and FUNCINPEC, and that the ICAPP assembly was a success. He thanked the Cambodian Ambassador to Japan for his cooperation in facilitating the JCP’s visit to Cambodia.
Ambassador Monirath welcomed the success of the ICAPP assembly and the fruitful talks between the JCP and Cambodian parties, and expressed his hope that the JCP will further develop ties of friendship between the Japanese and Cambodian peoples.
