Fuwa talks with Chinese Academy of Social Sciences researchers
Fuwa Tetsuzo, director of the Social Sciences Institute affiliated with the Japanese Communist Party, met with Marxist researchers of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) at the JCP head office in Tokyo on September 24.
Fuwa in response to their questions talked about the JCP's views on the contradictions in today's capitalism, the collapse of the Soviet Union 30 years ago, political changes in Eastern Europe, the issue of nuclear weapons, China's presence in the China Sea, and the theory regarding a future society.
Heading the Chinese researchers' group, Xin Xiangyang, vice director of the CASS Marxism Academy, explained China's position in the international political arena and ongoing challenges that 70-year-old China is addressing.
Ogata visited by Iraqi Communist Party
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair and chief of the JCP International Commission OgataYasuo on September 26 received a visit from Salam Ali, international representative of the Iraqi Communist Party, and Iraqi Ambassador to Japan Khalil Al Mosawi who accompanied the party executive.
Salam talked about the situation in Iraq, the party's ongoing activities, the Middle East situation in the aftermath of the Iraq War, and the present situation in the Gulf region amid rising Gulf tensions over Iran.
Ogata talked about the political climate in Japan, the JCP activities and party efforts to promote a coalition of opposition parties and concerned citizens, and the 28th JCP Congress slated for January next year and the effort in process to increase the party membership.
In addition, they discussed a strengthening of the bilateral relationship.
Koike attends Chinese reception
Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head and member of the House of Councilors Koike Akira on September 26 attended a reception held at a Tokyo hotel by the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Koike offered his congratulations to Chinese Ambassador to Japan Kong Xuanyou and talked with Japanese and overseas guests.
JCP Vice Chair and member of the House of Councilors Yamashita Yoshiki and several other JCP Dietmembers also took part in the reception.
