Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on Twitter on November 11 protested against Hong Kong police opening fire at civilian demonstrators.
According to the Hong Kong media, a 21-year-old man, one of the demonstrators, was shot by police at close range and was gravely wounded.
Shii tweeted, "I strongly protest against the firing of live ammunition by Hong Kong police toward demonstrators. I am also firmly opposed to the Hong Kong government's repressive measures and to the Chinese government giving its tacit support to the repression."
