Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo, who also chairs the JCP International Commission, during his visit to Vietnam had talks with Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member and Head of the Organization Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 18 in Hanoi.
In the talks, Ogata explained the resolution of the JCP 28th Congress. He also referred to the steady development of the JCP-CPV relationship through theoretical exchange meetings and mutual visits. Ogata expressed his hope that the two parties will engage in further cooperation to combat global challenges to abolish nuclear weapons and combat climate change. He added that the JCP will step up collaboration with the CPV to defend the peaceful international order based on the UN Charter and international law.
Chinh offered Ogata his congratulations upon the success of the JCP Congress which was held last month. Highly evaluating the advance in bilateral ties, he underscored the need for the two parties to continue sharing theoretical studies, experiences in party-building efforts, and opinions about international issues that both sides are concerned about. Chinh went on to say that he hopes that with these activities, the two parties will contribute to establishing better relations between the two countries and the two peoples, regional and global peace and stability, and environmental conservation.
Later on the same day, Ogata also met with Hoang Binh Quan, who heads the CPV Central Committee Commission for External Relations, and exchanged views on the current regional and global situations.
On the following day, Ogata held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Le Hoai Trung and President of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam Nguyen Vu Tung. He got a briefing on Vietnam’s foreign policies as the country this year will serve as the chair of the ASEAN.
