Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on February 15 received a visit by outgoing Iraqi ambassador to Japan Khalil Al-Moussawi at the JCP head office.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude for exchanges he had with the JCP during his 3-year tenure as well as for JCP cooperation in building mutual friendship and amity between Japan and Iraq.
Shii expressed his respect for the efforts the ambassador made for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. Shii also expressed appreciation for the attendance of the Iraqi ambassador as a diplomatic corps delegate at the JCP 28th Congress in January of last year.
The ambassador said that he understood through observing the Congress that the JCP has a consistent policy based on its Program and is supported by many people.
They also talked about the need to promote cooperation in working to eliminate nuclear weapons between the JCP and the Iraqi government which is in favor of the UN treaty banning nuclear weapons.
