The delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) led by General Secretary Prakash Karat on August 29 visited Kyoto City and met with Japanese Communist Party members of the local prefectural and municipal assemblies.

The meeting was arranged at the request of the CPIM to learn how the JCP takes up and realizes residents’ various demands in Kyoto where the JCP shares larger portions in local assemblies in the country.

The CPIM delegation also met with leaders of the JCP Kyoto Prefectural Committee on August 30.
