Amid the outbreak of a COVID-19 cluster at U.S. Marine Corps Camp Hansen in Okinawa, yet another U.S. serviceman stationed at the base was arrested by the Naha
Police for drunk driving.
According to the police, the 24-year-old corporal drove a scooter on a road in Naha City under the influence of alcohol at around midnight on December 25.
This arrest came soon after the Japanese government urged the U.S. military to tighten military discipline in reaction to the arrest of a Marine stationed at Camp Hansen for drunk driving five days earlier.
