An opening ceremony took place on February 22 at a facility which the Japanese Communist Party established in Ishikawa’s Hakui City, one of municipalities hit hard by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, as a center of support activities carried out in collaboration with trade unions and civil organizations.
JCP member of the House of Councilors Inoue Satoshi joined in the ceremony.
The facility’s head, former JCP member of the House of Representatives Fujino Yasufumi, delivered a speech and expressed his determination to work hard to help quake-affected people feel hopeful about restoring their livelihoods in their hometowns.
JCP Ishikawa Prefectural Committee Chair Akimoto Kunihiro stressed the need to strengthen efforts that meet quake victims’ demands and said, “Let us work hard together with staff members of this center and continue with our relief efforts.”
Among cooperating organizations, representatives of the New Japan Women’s Association’s Ishikawa chapter and the National Confederation of Trade Unions’ Ishikawa Local delivered speeches in solidarity.
