The Japanese Communist Party Central Committee has received a total of 260 million yen in relief donations, as of March 16, for the victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on New Year’s Day. The JCP sent the full amount as disaster relief money to the affected local governments and organizations.
The JCP has received thanks and various requests from the affected areas to which the party delivered the donations. The JCP is determined to continue its efforts to promote post-disaster recovery and restoration of the disaster-hit region.
The JCP sent a total of 139 million yen to: the Ishikawa prefectural government along with five cities and five towns in Ishikawa; the Niigata prefectural government and three cities in Niigata; and the Toyama prefectural government and four cities in Toyama.
A total of 121 million yen was sent to ten organizations, including a fishery cooperative, lacquerware associations, a sake brewers’ association, a hot spring association, and a farmers’ cooperative.
