AALA, JCP Ogata in Indonesia

JCP Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo, as a guest observer, sat in on ministerial meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries held on May 25-27 in Bali, Indonesia.
He, in the Japan Asia Africa Latin America Solidarity Committee (Japan AALA) delegation, visited Indonesia to observe all proceedings of the conference and establish relationships with other countries’ delegations.
The Japan AALA delegation on May 25 attended a reception hosted by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the non-aligned movement.
At the reception, Ogata talked with a representative of Egypt, the present NAM chair, regarding the ongoing democratization process in Egypt and with Tunisian Foreign Minister Mouldi Kefi on reinforcing a bilateral relationship.
JCP builds ties with East Timor’s Fretelin

The Japanese Communist Party has launched relations of friendship and solidarity with the East Timorese parliamentary group, Fretelin (Revolutionary Front for an Independent East Timor).
JCP Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on May 28 had talks with Fretelin spokesman Jose Teixeira (former Minister for Natural Resources, Minerals, and Energy Policy) at the Fretelin headquarters in Dili, the capital of East Timor, and agreed to establish mutual relationships.
