Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on June 17 received Liu Jieyi, vice head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), at the JCP head office.
Liu is visiting Japan to exchange with Japanese political parties views on strengthening strategic and mutually-beneficial relationships between Japan and China and to directly convey the message that China emphasizes with the March 11 disaster victims.
The JCP chair expressed his appreciation for the warm feelings and support shown by China when the disaster occurred and congratulated the CPC on marking the 90th anniversary of its foundation this year.
He also explained that the JCP calls for the total withdrawal from nuclear power generation and a shift to renewable energy production.
