Japanese Communist Party newspaper Akahata vice director Fujita Ken attended the first China-Japan-ROK press forum. The forum, jointly organized by the Chinese Communist Party newspaper Renmin Ribao and China’s Jilin Province government in Changchun City on September 4, was taken part in by about 70 journalists from 31 media organizations, including ten from Japan.
The main theme of the forum was economic cooperation in North-East Asia. Fujita said that the key is to develop cooperation which will help improve people’s living standards and lead to stability in the region. He pointed out in this respect the importance of the six-party talks over North Korea’s nuclear issue.
