Ogata meets with Cuba’s ICAP vice president
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on September 15 received Alicia Corredera Morales, vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), at the JCP head office.
Corredera reported about ICAP’s recent activities, the present situation of Cuba, and policies that the Communist Party of Cuba approved in its 6th Congress in April.
Ogata explained about the present Japanese political situation.
Ogata attends meeting of solidarity with Cuba
JCP Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on September 17 took part in the “2nd Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba” hosted by the Cuban Embassy in Tokyo.
The meeting was organized with the aim of offering solidarity and support to those affected by the 3.11 Earthquake and Tsunamis.
It was reported at the meeting that Ambassador to Japan Jose Fernandez de Cossio and Cuban pianist Raul Fuentes engaged in support activities in disaster-hit areas and that the well-known Afro-Cuban band Buena Vista All Stars gave part of the proceeds from their performances in Japan to the disaster-affected region.
