Ichida attends welcome dinner for Malaysia’s upper house chair
Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi on February 6 attended a dinner to welcome President of the Senate, Parliament of Malaysia Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang, hosted by Japan’s Upper House Chair Hirata Kenji.
Ichida referred to the role Malaysia is playing in the Non-Aligned Movement as well as in the movement for the elimination of nuclear weapons, expressing gratitude to the Malaysian government for sending its representative to the World Conference against A & H bombs every year.
Abu Zahar replied that the elimination of nuclear weapons is an essential task.
Ogata attends reception commemorating Iranian Revolution
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on February 10 attended Iran’s National Day commemorating the revolution, held at the Iranian ambassador’s official residence in Tokyo. Ogata offered words of congratulations to Charge d’Affaires Majid Motallebi Shabestari.
